GREE and Tencent to Support the Entry of Development Partners into Japanese and Chinese Markets through Standardized Specifications- TECMO KOEI GAMES and TAITO CORPORATION to Offer First Social Games on Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community -

TOKYO, Japan - August 5, 2011 - GREE today announced that Tencent, the largest online community service provider in China with 650 million users, will begin offering the "Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community," *1 an open platform for both feature phones and smartphones, on August 5, 2011. The new platform will have standardized specifications that will be compatible with the "GREE Platform."*2

The open platform will enable development partners who use GREE's platform, and development partners who use the "Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community," to take full advantage of each other's expertise and easily develop social gaming applications on either platform.

Tencent and GREE have already established alliances with global service providers who have extensive experience in localization (including translation and reflection of the local culture), debugging, and multi-device functionality verification. Global development partners can thus easily provide applications on GREE and Tencent's platforms, with improved quality and shorter development cycles.

As the first partners to use the "Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community," TECMO KOEI GAMES CO., LTD. will release "My Romance of the Three Kingdom (Working Title)," and TAITO CORPORATION will release "SPY WARS" in this fall. In addition, Beijing Moca World Technology Co., Ltd., one of the leading application providers for the Tencent SNS platform, also plans to release a social game in Japan, through GREE.

In China, the number of mobile users is rapidly increasing and greater market expansion is expected. In response to the fast-growing Chinese mobile game market, Tencent and GREE will continue to provide an environment that enables its global development partners to easily develop in both the Japanese and Chinese markets.

The impact of this announcement on business performance is currently being analyzed. If any kind of impact is identified, an announcement will be made promptly.
