GREE and Project Goth Partner to Standardize Their Platforms for the Smartphones - Enables Social Application Sharing on a Mobile Community, mig33 with over 47 Million Users -
TOKYO, Japan - April 13, 2011 - GREE, Inc. today announced they have partnered with Project Goth, Inc., the company behind the mobile SNS, mig33, that has over 47 million registered users in Southeast Asia, India, and South Africa. In November 2010, GREE, Inc. purchased privately placed shares newly issued by Project Goth, Inc. for a capital tie-up, and now both parties have agreed to form a partnership to standardize the technical specifications of their platforms for the smartphone market.
GREE, Inc. is offering the GREE Platform for smartphone,*1 which allows GREE developers to provide various smartphone applications to GREE users on GREE. The partnership between GREE, Inc. and Project Goth, Inc. will enable the social applications developed by partners to be compatible on both companies' platforms.
GREE, Inc. has already established alliances with service providers who have extensive experience and know-how in localization, debugging, and verification of Japanese and overseas device functionality. Japanese and oversea GREE partners can thus easily provide applications on the GREE platform and mig33 with improved quality and shorter development cycles. GREE, Inc. has also partnered with the largest Chinese online community service provider, Tencent, to standardize technical specifications of their platforms for the smartphones.
