GREE Launches its First Unity-made Social Gaming Applications for iOS and Android in Japan- GREE will develop and introduce dozens of new smartphone apps this summer, including 2D and 3D Games for iOS and Android starting in Japan -

TOKYO, Japan - June 20th, 2011 - GREE, Inc. today announced it has launched 2D and 3D mobile social games for the iOS and Android, developed through Unity development platform. GREE plans to introduce dozens of new smartphone apps using Unity this summer, starting in Japan.

Unity is a cross-platform middleware game development tool developed and marketed by Unity Technologies, which facilitates the development of interactive 3D content*1. GREE and Unity Technologies released the "Unity Plug-in for GREE iOS SDK" and "Unity Plug-in for GREE Android SDK" in March 2011*2. GREE's newest releases in Japan, "CosmoLightning" and "Billiards for GREE", are 2D and 3D apps developed through Unity's plug-ins to achieve a high-quality user experience while taking advantage of the power of smartphones.
