TAITO Provides Social Game for Smartphones to China Market as First Service through Business Partnership with Tencent and GREE
TOKYO, Japan - November 30, 2011 - GREE today announced that TAITO Corporation has extended its service of the SPY WARS™ game for Android™ devices, making it compatible to the Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community*1 for smartphones. This enterprise is an extension of the partnership between GREE and Tencent, China's largest integrated Internet service provider with over 710 million*2 active QQ IM user accounts.
SPY WARS for Android is TAITO's first social game for the Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community in China.
After the formation of their business alliance in January, Tencent and GREE standardized the specifications of their respective platforms. In addition, they have been providing business support to their development partners through localization. These services enable the development partners that adopt the GREE Platform and those that employ the Tencent Wireless Open Platform for Community to fully utilize their development know-how and easily develop their social applications on each other's social networking services (SNS).
Outline of the SPY WARS game for Android
Popular social game SPY WARS was originally released for feature phones in Japan. Players take on the role of espionage agents, embarking on missions with friendly agents in an effort to save the world from a host of insidious threats. In addition to leading other spies on missions assigned by headquarters, players can also foil enemy conspiracies by battling foreign agents directly and stealing their top secret documents. With plot twists worthy of a spy novel, a variety of exciting spy tools, and thrilling battles, SPY WARS offers unparalleled cooperative game play and communication.
