GREE Announces Partnership with San Francisco-Based MakeSchool- Creates App Development Training Curriculum In San Francisco -
February 3, 2015—GREE, Inc. today announced a partnership with MakeSchool, Inc. (“MakeSchool”), a San Francisco-based computer science and software development school. The partnership will involve engineers from GREE's Tokyo and San Francisco offices working with MakeSchool to help develop the curriculum offered to new students interested in learning how to work with key tools in mobile game development culminating in a fully-releasable mobile game after eight weeks.
“GREE is passionate about mobile games and committed to making an investment in the people who will be making them.” says Naoki Aoyagi, Senior Vice President, GREE, Inc. “Working with MakeSchool allows us to use GREE's expertise in mobile game development and the experience of our talented engineers to build great practical learning experiences for students that they will be able to apply immediately and on-the-job.”
The first program using this newly developed curriculum will run for approximately eight weeks in Cocos2D-swift/Cocos2D-x with the students planning, developing and releasing a mobile game by the end of the program. GREE will be sending over several engineers from Tokyo to participate. The programs are focused on those interested in learning more about the mobile development process. For anyone interested in applying to this or other programs, more information and the official application process is available at www.makeschool.com.

Partnering with GREE allows us to tap into their experience as leading mobile game developers to get an even better understanding of what both today and the next generation of app developers will be working with,” says Jeremy Rossmann, CEO of MakeSchool, Inc. “With the right teachers, the right curriculum, and the right tools our students can make amazing things that they can share with audiences worldwide by the end of one of our programs. This partnership with GREE will also help us to reach global audiences and we are very excited to launch in Japan in the coming months.”
