REALITY, the Metaverse for Smartphones Releases "REALITY Avatar 2.0," Significantly Expands Avatar Expression- First Major Update for REALITY Avatar Expression -

REALITY, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Eiji Araki), a wholly owned subsidiary of GREE, Inc. announced today that it has released "REALITY Avatar 2.0" which significantly expands avatar expression in REALITY, the metaverse for smartphones, allowing users to express "whoever they want to be."

REALITY is a metaverse designed for smartphones that launched August 2018 under the vision of "We can be whoever we want." With just a smartphone, users can create their own original avatar and interact with other REALITY users via live streams or playing games. Users can also communicate with their friends in 3D virtual spaces called "Worlds", where they can freely move their avatar, and earn money from the gifts they receive while live-streaming.

Since its release in August 2018, REALITY has experienced persistent and steady growth, with total downloads exceeding 15 million in November 2023, and Japan to overseas usage ratio of approximately 80%* overseas users. REALITY is used worldwide, and is especially popular among Gen Z, and will continue to grow as a global metaverse platform.

"REALITY Avatar 2.0" adds new categories for facial modeling such as "nose," "contour," and "sculpt depth," as well as body shape adjustments and many new items for hair, eyes, eyebrows, beards, and blush, expanding the range of expression and making it possible to create more unique avatars.
