Avatar Live Streaming App REALITY Releases a New Game Streaming Feature

REALITY, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, CEO: Eiji Araki), a wholly owned subsidiary of GREE, Inc. today announced the release of a new game streaming feature within its avatar live streaming application REALITY.

REALITY is a live streaming app launched in August 2018 with the vision: “We can be whoever we want.” With just a smartphone, users can create their own original avatar and interact with other REALITY users via live streams or play games.

REALITY has experienced persistent and steady growth, with total downloads exceeding 17 million as of July 2024. REALITY continues to grow as a global metaverse platform, enjoying a worldwide userbase, as indicated by a Japan-to-overseas usage ratio of approximately 20:80,* and particular popularity among Gen Z users. Since its launch as a live streaming platform, numerous features have been released such as Messages, Video Chat and Room, a feature allowing users to create their own personal virtual spaces establishing REALITY’s position as a communication platform.

REALITY has released a new game streaming feature that allows users to stream games easily within the platform. Game streaming has been growing in popularity worldwide, with both the number of viewers and streamers increasing. However, other live streaming services have required complicated settings or a certain environment to stream games, giving users a big challenge to start.

REALITY’s new game streaming feature allows users to stream games using their own REALITY avatar with a few simple steps using their smartphones and PCs. Furthermore, with the Room feature, users will be able to stream games within their own room, allowing streamers and viewers to have a unique game streaming experience that they can fully appreciate the sense of metaverse, as if they are playing and watching games together in the streamer's room.
